As a long-time partner of sports and athletes, Hyundai is turning to the running community in 2020 by partnering with Running Heroes. The manufacturer becomes the Official Sustainable Mobility Partner of the first community of runners in France.
The application creates this regular point of contact between Hyundai and runners. On a daily basis, the automotive giant accompanies runners towards a more environmentally friendly practice. A strategy consistent with Hyundai's commitments and the development of its range of electrified vehicles.
The first year of Hyundai's partnership with Running Heroes was disrupted by the health crisis, forcing both partners to be nimble. To maintain runners' enthusiasm despite the restrictions on their practice, new features were introduced.
A few confinements later...
2021 marks the return of physical running and Hyundai is launching the "Run To Progress" program with one goal in mind: to reinforce the role and legitimacy of the brand in the running world. Hyundai is positioning itself as the companion of runners before, during and after the competition thanks to innovative content and experiences.
Initially, the Running Heroes x Hyundai partnership was built around 5 partner races. However, the Covid-19 crisis has upset this activation plan. If two events (Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris and Run in Mt St Michel) are still maintained, Hyundai and Sport Heroes must adapt their offer.
Virtual races :
To help running enthusiasts get away from it all, Hyundai is organizing two virtual 5 km races: the energy to surpass yourself. With, to be won: gift cards, rally experiences with the Hyundai WRC team, and loans of electric cars #HyundaiElectricRun.
Daily support:
Confinements continue and health measures limit runners' outings and activities. Hyundai offers a series of 8 videos "Recharge your batteries" to keep runners excited. The series includes warm-ups, strength training and stretching sessions to motivate and inspire runners in their daily training.
Off the beaten path" experiences:
When the lockdown is lifted, it's finally time to get together and relive running experiences. Hyundai invites Running Heroes members to two events at its dealerships. In Aix en Provence, they are introduced to trail running. In Teste de Buch, a plogging session awaits them. A moment of collective, sharing and inclusion, much awaited by the community after months of individual practice. It is also an opportunity for participants to test the brand's electric models.
In 2021, Hyundai is approaching running through the prism of its group vision "Progress For Humanity" and creating the "Run To Progress" program. The manufacturer will support all runners, whatever their level, by accompanying them before, during and after the race.
That year, Hyundai partnered with 5 races in France (Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris, adidas 10K Paris, Run In Reims, Run In Lyon and Cross du Figaro) and built several key activations with Running Heroes to spread the word about its commitments to runners.
Team Hyundai, a unique VIP experience at the Semi de Paris:
As a partner of the Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris, Hyundai is supporting the members in their preparation through a series of 3 "Run To Progress Series" performance challenges. The prize: race bibs, equipment and a VIP experience for 5 lucky winners as members of Team Hyundai.
What is Team Hyundai? 5 runners selected at random who will benefit from a 100% comfortable VIP package for the entire Semi de Paris weekend: race number, chauffeured transportation, lodging, restaurants, reconnaissance of the course in a Hyundai vehicle, access to VIP areas, post-race care, and video recording to keep a memorable souvenir.
"Great organization, great people, great race, great weekend."
"The program was top notch! You quickly get a taste for being pampered."
Customized support for the adidas 10K Paris and the Cross du Figaro:
In the lead-up to these two races, Hyundai is offering the community a comprehensive program to prepare for the competition:
The run plogging in Reims :
As part of its eco-responsible approach, Hyundai encourages its entire network of dealerships to get involved in plogging actions and raises awareness of responsible sport among runners. With this in mind, Hyundai is organizing a plogging run with the Reims Delhorbe Automobiles dealership and the association Marchons Utile on Sunday, October 24, 2021. The participants are there: 40 people and 207 kilos collected.
After a year of health crisis and adaptation of the practice, Hyundai has once again answered present at the time of the resumption of the races and accompanied the runners towards the realization of their objectives. More than 240 Hyundai bibs were distributed during this year of partnership. The story continues in 2022 with many races in mind.
Running is a popular and accessible sport, as is our range of electrified vehicles. Runners have a very strong appetite for everything that concerns well-being and the environment. Given the message that the brand wishes to convey to consumers with its electric range, our presence in the running world is all the more relevant. Running is a sport that fully responds to the environmental issues and ecological values that Hyundai defends through its electrified products.
